Networking for enhancement of post graduate studies
There are many unresolved issues in agricultural science education and the leitmotif is the question of how it can be improved to meet the current demand for practice-oriented learning, as well as the expectation of high quality research papers and their internationalization.
This aspect of the SAGRIS project's work contributes to a deeper analysis of the current situation in postgraduate education in the agricultural sciences and the different ways and approaches to quality assurance in graduate/doctoral education.
The universities of the consortium together came to an understanding of the need to develop institutional strategies on how to improve and promote third cycle educational programs in sustainable agriculture and agrosystems of the future. For this purpose, in the first stages, the universities developed a joint comparative reference document "Russian and Kazakh third cycle agricultural education systems with reference to the European Higher Education Area and the Bologna Process".
In addition to this document, a consortium of project partners also developed a glossary of frequently used terms in higher education. The aim of the glossary is to identify which terms are used with different understandings in the educational language of official publications of European educational institutions, as well as of Russia and Kazakhstan. At the same time, the glossary clearly demonstrates whether other terms exist or not.
